After the drama of Storm Bert last weekend and the freezing conditions of recent days, our weather conditions will be much quieter over the coming days.
The weather is now returning to “typical end of November”, according to the Met Office with the coming days set to see a split with brighter and drier skies in the east and cloudier weather in the west.
Friday will have a similar east-west split. Breezier and milder weather is forecast for the weekend, but outbreaks of rain will be largely contained in the northern and western parts of the UK.

Some showery rain might reach southeastern areas by Sunday.
Met Office meteorologist Greg Dewhurst said. “Overall, it looks this weather pattern will continue with weather fronts coming in from the Atlantic, but largely affecting the north and the west – occasional spells of rain in the south-east, but temperatures near average really.”
Following the stormy conditions of last weekend, here's what to expect for the coming days in Northern Ireland:
Friday:
Starting off dry before rain spreads northeast from late morning and into the afternoon. Remaining breezy. Mild. Maximum temperature 13°C.
Outlook for Saturday to Monday:
Mainly dry, cloudy and mild on Saturday with just a few passing showers. Wet and windy for a time Saturday evening. Brighter with the odd shower on Sunday and Monday.
UK long range weather forecast: Tuesday 3rd December - Thursday 12th December
A cold and frosty start is expected on Tuesday, with some patchy freezing fog in places, which may be slow to clear. Cloud will increase from the west, then later rain for western parts. This may fall as snow at first across Scotland and the Highlands.
Following a brief settled spell, further fontal systems are expected to move in from the west, more likely to bring rain and breezy conditions for much of the UK, especially northern and western parts.
Towards the end of the period there are signs for more settled weather becoming amplified across the south of the UK. Temperatures will be close to or below average on Tuesday, then rising above average where frontal systems move in from the west.
