Northern Ireland weather set to take a turn as Met Office warns of hail and temperature drop

After a couple of weeks where there has rarely been a cloud in the sky in Northern Ireland, the nice weather is set to take a turn soon with colder temperatures and hailstorms.

The Met Office has issued a brief forecast for the start of next week, saying that from Sunday, April 13, to Tuesday, April 15, there is likely to be rain and heavy hail with only a few sunny spells in between.

After temperatures hit highs of 19 degrees in Belfast on Friday, they are set to drop to as low as one degree on Monday with temperatures reaching around 10 or 11 degrees during the day.

After two weeks of dry weather the rain and hail will be a disappointment but it is what we normally expect at this time of year.

The Met Office said: "A colder few days with sunny intervals and scattered showers, occasionally heavy with hail. Fewer showers on Tuesday."

Ahead of that, Saturday is set to start off bright and sunny before the possibility of some rain showers in the evening, with temperatures set to reach highs of 16 degrees.
