Northern Ireland weather records 21C on Wednesday as more heat is forecast

The skies have been blue and temperatures high across Northern Ireland this week - and those conditions are set to stay for another few days.

Record temperatures for this year were recorded in Castlederg, Co Tyrone on Wednesday, hitting 21C. Weatherman Barra Best says this is the earliest 21C in 13 years, with the last happening in March 2012.

Looking at the days ahead, it is looking to be a promising couple of days across the region.

It gives to be a "fine dry and sunny day" tomorrow, Thursday. The Met Office has forecast a chilly start then feeling warm with light westerly winds. Maximum temperatures of 20C.

And looking towards the end of the week, a Met Office spokesperson said: "Staying dry on Friday and most of Saturday with some sunshine. Then rather cloudy with some showers later Saturday and on Sunday."

Meanwhile, mystery dust particles that appeared on cars across western areas of Northern Ireland been explained by experts from the UK's Met Office.
