Northern Ireland weather outlook for the first week of March

February is finally behind us and Spring has officially arrived.

March marks the beginning of the brighter mornings and longer evenings and we cannot wait to say goodbye to all the wintery weather.

According to the Met Office, Northern Ireland could be in for some sun this week - with bright skies for Pancake Tuesday.

The forecaster has said that we could see some bright spells in parts the country on Monday with temperatures reaching just around 12C.

In Belfast, the rain is set to not make a reappearance until Saturday with sun and clouds predicted for across the week.

This is what the Met Office has forecasted for Northern Ireland this week:

Monday, March 3:

A mainly cloudy day with the occasional bright spell and some patchy light rain, mostly over the hills.

Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Tuesday will stay dry but cloudy.

Bright spells will increase as dry conditions continue Wednesday into Thursday morning.

Showers build over eastern parts in the afternoon.
