Northern Ireland grammar school in "financial management considerations" probe

An investigation into "financial management considerations" at one of Northern Ireland's top grammar schools has been launched.

The Education Authority confirmed the investigation is "ongoing" at Assumption Grammar School in Ballynahinch, Co Down.

A spokesperson for the Education Authority (EA) stated: “An investigation into financial management considerations at Assumption Grammar School has been ongoing and is still in progress. No conclusions have been reached at this time.”

A statement from the Assumption Grammar School Board of Governors said: "The Board of Governors at Assumption Grammar School has been working closely with the Education Authority as part of a review into financial management considerations. No conclusions have been reached at present; therefore, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time."
