Emergency services are currently attending a fire in Newtownards on Tuesday night.

Residents have been evacuated after a blaze in the Tower Court area of the town on March 25, with the public asked to avoid the area.

A spokesperson for the Police Service of Northern Ireland said: "Police are currently at the scene of a fire in the Tower Court area of Newtownards, where officers are assisting emergency services colleagues with the evacuation of residents.

"Cordons are in place and we would ask that the public avoid the area at this time.

"An update will be provided in due course."
