Mourners have gathered at St Peter's Cathedral in West Belfast for the funeral of vetran Irish language campaigner Gearóid Ó Cairealláin who passed away on Friday at the age of 67 after a short illness.
The father of Kneecap star Naoise Ó Cairealláin (Móglaí Bap), Gearóid spent most of his working life as a journalist having launched the Irish language weekly newspaper Preas an Phobail before going on to oversee the launch of the Irish language daily newspaper Lá.

Gearóid is survived by his wife Bríd and sons Ainle, Cairbre, and Naoise.
