The following is a news release from Idaho State Police.
WALLACE – On March 3 about 2 p.m., the Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office received a traffic complaint of a possible DUI on a silver 2005 Honda Civic.
Shoshone County deputies located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop on Interstate 90 near milepost 45. The Civic did not stop, and the deputy initiated a pursuit. During the pursuit, authorities learned the Civic was stolen.
The Idaho State Police took over the pursuit near milepost 19 in Kootenai County. Troopers spiked the vehicle, effectively deflating the tires.
The vehicle continued northbound of 15th, where a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) was used to stop the vehicle.
Troopers, along with Kootenai County and Shoshone County deputies quickly apprehended and arrested the driver, a 34-year-old man out of Missoula, Montana. He was booked into the Kootenai County Jail on probable cause for:
