ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV) – A Pine Lawn family is so rattled after being targeted multiple times that they’re making plans to move. The family has asked not to be identified and a spokesman for the victims also asked to remain anonymous.
“They’re terrified they’re going to get hurt. They have to sleep in shifts now. I’m really scared for them,” he said.
The victims say they bought a house on Beachwood Avenue in Pine Lawn and enjoyed living there until a female neighbor assaulted the husband a couple of months ago. The couple believes the woman may have mental health problems.
The trouble continued when someone left a voodoo doll on the front porch which was surrounded by rat poison. The family dog apparently ate some rat poison thrown in the front yard and had to be rushed to an animal hospital.
In December, a man was recorded by surveillance cameras walking around to the back of the house where an explosive device was set off. The explosion blew off a door handle on the back door. SEE THE VIDEO IN THE PLAYER ABOVE.
Then on Friday, apparently the same man was recorded by a security camera lighting something on fire and dropping it on one of the cars in the driveway. One car was destroyed and a second was damaged.
“They’re looking to move, because who could live there if they’re setting your house on fire and putting bombs on your house?” said the friend.
The North County Police Cooperative is investigating and a spokesman said investigators are taking the incidents very seriously.
“Our investigators are aggressively investigating the matters at hand. It’s still an ongoing investigation at this time,” said Corporal Benjamin Santoyo.
Police are asking anyone who recognizes the man in the video or may have information that could help the investigation, to contact the North County Police Cooperative at (314) 499-6093.
