DELRAY BEACH — A man was hit and killed by a Tri-Rail train in Delray Beach on Sunday, police said.
A southbound train struck the man at 9:45 a.m. south of Linton Boulevard, near the 3300 block of South Congress Avenue. The victim’s identity was not released by police.
Vehicular traffic was not affected, according to police.
Back on Feb. 15, a pedestrian in Hollywood was felled by a Tri-Rail train.
Brightline train crashes are also an ongoing problem. At least 88 people have died in collisions with the high-speed trains since it began operating in July 2017.
None of the deaths involving Brightline have been found to be the railroad’s fault. Most have been suicides, pedestrians who tried to run across the tracks ahead of a train or drivers who maneuvered around crossing gates.
