Man remanded in custody after appearing in court in connection with Ballymena incident

A man has been remanded in custody after appearing in court on multiple charges in connection with an incident in Ballymena at the weekend.

Brian Ward, 41, of Drumtara, Ballymena, appeared at Coleraine Magistrates Court on Monday, March 3, where he faced multiple charges in connection with an incident on Ballymoney Street in the Co Antrim town on Saturday, March 1.

He is charged with two counts of dangerous driving on Ballymoney Street and Doury Road, failing to stop where an accident occurred causing injury, failing to remain at the scene of an accident that caused injury, failing to report an accident that caused injury and two counts of attempted grievous bodily harm against a man and a woman.

Ward was remanded in custody following the hearing and is due to appear again at Ballymena Magistrates Court on Thursday, March 13.
