A man has died following a fire at an apartment block in West Belfast. The emergency services were called to a block of apartments in the Carrigart Avenue area of the city at around 12.30pm on Monday, April 7, following reports of a fire.
Upon arrival at the scene, firefighters rescued a man in his 30s from the property with him later being taken to hospital.
Police have now confirmed that the man has died in hospital as a result of the injuries that he sustained in the fire.

An investigation into the fire remains ongoing.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "The Police Service of Northern Ireland can confirm that a man aged in his 30s has died following a fire at a residential property in the Carrigart Avenue area of west Belfast on Monday 7th April.
"Police were notified of the fire shortly before 12.30pm and attended alongside colleagues from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service and the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.
"Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service extinguished the blaze but, sadly, the man died later in hospital. Enquiries are ongoing."
