A 76-year-old man died Wednesday, five days after he and his 81-year old wife crashed their car into a residential building at the Kings Point condominium community west of Delray Beach, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
His wife died at the scene.
The couple were identified as Joseph and Joyce Zanleone. The two had bought a condominium in Kings Point together in 2022, according to Palm Beach County Property Appraiser’s Office records.

The accident occurred about 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 17. The couple was heading west on Monaco Boulevard from Jog Road when Joseph Zanleone lost control of the car “for unknown reasons” as he accelerated rapidly, according to the Sheriff’s Office. He ran a stop sign, drove through a hedge line, road sign and cement planter and then into the building at 529 Brittany Lane.
Joseph Zanleone, the driver of the car, was critically injured following the crash and taken to Delray Medical Center, the Sheriff’s Office said.
