Aaron Willis was arrested Monday

ORLANDO, Fla. – Police said they’ve arrested a man accused of fatally shooting an Orlando father in a downtown parking garage earlier this month.

Aaron Willis, 36, was arrested Monday for the shooting of Terry Rivers on Jan. 7.

Police said Rivers was found shot in the driver’s seat of a vehicle that had crashed into a building along Orange Avenue. He died at Orlando Regional Medical Center. Police said Rivers had been shot in a nearby parking garage and then crashed into the building.

OPD’s Fugitive Investigative Unite took Willis into custody. Police did not say why they thought Willis was the suspect.

Willis is facing charges of second-degree murder with a firearm.

According to his family, Rivers was president of a nonprofit called Process of Revision Foundation, offering mentoring, tutoring and more for young people, and was a father of five children.
