Man arrested after alleged sexual assault at SSE Arena Belfast darts tournament

A man has been arrested following a report of sexual assault during night one of Premier League Darts 2025 at the SSE Arena in Belfast on Thursday evening.

At around 10.50pm on February 6, it was reported that a woman had been touched inappropriately by an "unknown man." A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and remains in police custody.

In a separate incident at the same event, police say a 20-year-old man was cautioned for offences including disorderly behaviour, assault on police, and obstructing police.

A spokesperson for the PSNI said: "Police have arrested a man following a report of a sexual assault during a sporting event in east Belfast on Thursday evening, 6th February.

"It was reported at approximately 10.50pm that a woman had been touched inappropriately by an unknown man. The 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and he remains in police custody at this time.

"Separately, another 20-year-old man in attendance at the event, was cautioned for a number of offences, including disorderly behaviour, assault on police and obstructing police."
