Man armed with knife steals cash and beer from South Belfast off-licence

A man armed with a knife stole cash and a box of beer from a South Belfast off-licence on Saturday night. At around 8.45pm on Saturday, February 9, the man entered the premises on Agincourt Avenue in the Holylands area.

He demanded staff to hand over cash. Upon receiving this, the masked man made off from the scene on foot - taking a box of beer with him as he left.

In an appeal for information, police issued a description of the armed man. They said: "The man was described as being approximately 5’10” tall wearing a grey coat with the hood up, dark Nike track bottoms, white trainers and a medical face-mask."

A spokesperson for the PSNI added: "Anyone with any information about this incident or who captured any dash-cam or CCTV footage in the area that may be able to help with the investigation, is asked to call detectives in Musgrave, on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1407 08/02/25.

"A report can be submitted online using the non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/ or you can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at http://crimestoppers-uk.org/."
