SAMARIA — The Malad Valley Heritage Square will host a combination of baby farm animals and jousting at the second-annual Malad Valley Renaissance Faire and Baby Animal Spring Festival.
The festival is scheduled for May 5 and 6 at the square in Samaria — about 10 minutes west of Malad City.
Luke Waldron, one of the festival’s organizers, told EastIdahoNews.com at last year’s festival that the event’s goal is to give people a fun way to get outside after a long winter.
This year’s event will add a jousting exhibition — by the Knights of Mayhem — and a royal banquet.
Admission to the festival is $8 for children ages four to 12, and $12 for anyone 13 or older. Children three and under can enter for free.
Reserved tickets are required for the royal banquet and princess party. For details or to purchase tickets, visit the event’s Facebook page — here.
The event will also host a petting zoo, shops, crafting demonstrations and games.
Festivities will run Friday, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m., and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Anyone who attends Friday will get half-price admission if they return Saturday.
The square is located at 4566 South 4400 West.
