Lorry sheds load onto cars outside Derry shop

1 year ago 522

A lorry has shed part of its load onto at least one car near shops in the Waterside area of Derry. The incident happened near an off licence and shop on the Old Strabane Road on Top of the Hill just before 4pm on Friday.

It's not yet clear how many vehicles have been damaged as a result but the lorry involved has a Republic of Ireland registration plate.

It appeared to be carrying metal bars some of which have tipped off to the side leaving the rear left of the truck almost on the road.

People have taken to social media to say it's a "miracle no one was killed".

Local councillors say they are as yet unaware of what happened. We understand police are directing traffic in the area.

The PSNI has been contacted for comment.
