REXBURG (Homestead Senior Living) — Homestead Senior Living recently took a group of its residents on an exciting outing to Rink 99 in Sugar City, where they had a blast ice skating. The residents, many of whom hadn’t laced up skates in years, were thrilled to get back on the ice and relived memories of their younger days.
The staff at The Homestead ensured that everyone felt safe and supported as they pushed the residents around the ice in wheelchairs. The energy was high, with everyone laughing and cheering each other on, making the outing feel like a special celebration of movement and fun.
In addition to the ice skating, a lighthearted game of hockey brought out the competitive spirit in the group. Whether they were teaming up to score goals or just having a playful face-off with the goalie, the residents embraced the camaraderie that the game fostered. The outing was not just about the physical activity but about creating meaningful moments and strengthening bonds between the residents and staff.
It was a day filled with joy, movement, and a reminder that no matter your age, it’s always a good time to try something new or revisit an old passion. The trip to Rink 99 was a true highlight, and everyone left with smiles on their faces and stories to share.
