ST. ANTHONY — A home in the heart of St. Anthony is likely a total loss after a fire Sunday afternoon, according to fire officials.

The fire was called to 126 East 2nd North in St. Anthony at about 1:30 p.m., Dave Fausett of the St. Anthony Fire Department told EastIdahoNews.com.

The occupants of the home escaped successfully, he said, but several of the family’s cats are missing.

St. Anthony Fire Department responded with four trucks. South Fremont Fire Department and the St. Anthony Police Department assisted.

“(The house) is probably a total loss,” Fausett said. “There is heavy damage to the roof and front of the home.”

By 2:30 p.m., fire crews were working on extinguishing hot spots, Fausett reported, and members of The Idaho Chaplains Associations were on the scene assisting the family.
