Live updates as properties evacuated and roads closed after 'suspicious object' found in Co Derry

A number of properties are being evacuated and roads closed following the discovery of a suspicious object in Co Derry, the PSNI has said.

Police are at the scene after the suspicious object was found in the Ranaghan Road area of Maghera.

Road closures are in place the road's junctions with Ballyknock Road and Tirkane Road and the public is being asked to avoid the area.
