A major route in East Belfast is closed this Thursday morning due to an 'ongoing police investigation'.
Police say both vehicle and pedestrian traffic between Albertbridge Road and Madrid Street is affected as a result of the closure of Templemore Avenue.
In a statement on Thursday, January 23, a PSNI spokesperson said: "Templemore Avenue is closed to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic between Albertbridge Road and Madrid Street due to an ongoing police investigation."
Posting on social media, local DUP Cllr Sammy Douglas said police were dealing with "a serious incident in Langtry Court".
He said: "Just after speaking to PSNI at the scene of a serious incident in Langtry Court. Templemore Avenue cordoned off. Traffic congestion along Albertbridge and Newtownards Road."
