They have just been crowned Irish Premiership champions for the 57th time, but already Linfield are looking to the future. Glentoran's 2-2 draw with Larne on Tuesday night sealed the deal for David Healy's side.
It is Healy's sixth title since becoming manager in 2015, and ends Larne's recent dominance of the Gibson Cup after winning back-to-back titles.
The champagne corks are just starting to pop around Windsor Park, but the club's razor focus was put into context by chairman Roy McGivern during an interview on Radio Ulster on Wednesday morning.
He says the challenge facing Linfield next season will be to try and qualify for the league stage of a European competition, something Irish League rivals Larne achieved this season.
It was a historic European campaign for the Invermen, but with that success came a congested fixture schedule which impacted on their domestic aspirations.
McGivern said: "There is no doubt that when you reach the league stage of any European competition, it is a massive challenge. But I think we will all learn from what happened to Larne this season.
"From our point of view, you need to be playing domestic games at the same time as a European campaign, but you need to balance your squad and have a strong squad and invest in that squad.
"We will embrace that challenge next year and try to emulate what Larne achieved this season. That will be very difficult getting through a number of European qualifying games.
"But that is the challenge you face at a club like Linfield."
