Six acts are continuing to battle it out on the Late Late Show Eurosong special to represent Ireland at Eurovision in Basel later this year.

Viewers across the globe have been tuning in on RTÉ One and the RTÉ player with the winning act set to be chosen by a combination of a National Jury, an International Jury, and the public vote.

The six acts were selected from hundreds of entries received by RTÉ following a callout for submissions last year with tonight’s chosen Eurosong winner will go on to represent Ireland at the second semi-final on Thursday 15 May.

Noughties chart topper Samantha Mumba has made a comeback for Eurosong singing My Way. She is competing against Dublin-born singer/songwriter Bobbi Arlo who is performing her song Powerplay, folk singer Reylta singing Fire, London-based Adgy who previously competed in Eurosong back in 2023, performing celtic-pop song Run into the Night, queer artist NIYL performing their song Growth and Norwegian singer EMMY performing her song Laika Party.

Last year's Eurosong winner and Irish Eurovision entry Bambi Thug has been providing feedback to the artists throughout the night alongside 2008 Eurosong contestant turned TV cook Donal Skehan, RTÉ 2 FM's Laura Fox and Dancing With The Stars judge Arthur Gourounlian.

Former Irish-winning artists Linda Martin (1992), Niamh Kanvanagh (1993), and Eiemar Quinn ( 1996) have also reunited to perform Swedish artist Loreen's 2023-winning song Tattoo during the programme.

Whoever is selected as tonight's Eurosong winner will be hoping they have what it takes to secure Ireland's eighth Eurovision win and put them ahead of Sweden, with whom they currently share the title of the most successful country in Eurovision on seven wins each,
