A man arrested and questioned just days ago over the murder of an eight-year-old schoolboy has died, it has emerged.
The man, awas detained at a Garda station in the east of the country in relation to the disappearance of Co Louth schoolboy Kyran Durnin, reports the Irish Mirror.
The arrest came as officers launched searches at houses in two locations in Drogheda with the aim of discovering any evidence which may reveal where Kyran is or what happened to him.
The man was later released without charge.

"Earlier today, Tuesday, 17th December 2024, Gardaí and emergency services were alerted following the discovery of a body of a male aged in his 30s in a domestic residence in Drogheda, County Louth.
"The local Coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be arranged. The outcome of the post-mortem will determine the course of the investigation.
"No additional information is available at this time."
