Police say they have received reports of fake bank notes being used in a number of Co Down towns.
It is understood the notes, which were said to be "passed over in the Downpatrick and Newcastle areas" have the serial number in the photograph below.
The PSNI told Belfast Live nine fake notes have been used at two businesses.
They have urged people to be vigilant and phone police if you work in a business and believe you have been given fake notes.
A post on the Newry, Mourne and Down Police Facebook page reads: "Police have received reports of fake bank notes - with the serial number in the photograph - being passed over in the Downpatrick and Newcastle areas.
"Please be vigilant and phone police on 101 if you work in a business, and believe fake notes have been handed over to you."
