Ryanair and Jet2 have warned some passengers that they may require an additional document besides their passports to fly. According to Ryanair's policy, once a pregnancy reaches its28th week, a 'fit to fly' letter from your doctor or midwife is required.
For those with a single pregnancy, travel is not permitted beyond the end of the 36th week. For a twin/triplet pregnancies, a 'fit to fly' letter is needed between weeks 28-32, and travel is not allowed beyond the end of the 32nd week.
The Jet2 website states: "Certificate to be dated within 7 days of departure and 16 days of the return date for expectant mothers. Certificates received outside of the stated dates cannot be accepted and clearance to travel will not be granted.

"Please see www.Jet2.com/FAQs for further information on travelling whilst pregnant or with other medical conditions. This form must be presented at the Check in Desk upon arrival at the airport."
Easyjet, on the other hand, allows pregnant passengers to travel up until the end of their 35th week (or 32nd week for multiple pregnancies) without needing a medical certificate, reports Birmingham Live.
"Some seats on board the aircraft may be restricted but we show you which ones when booking," states Easyjet on its website. "Please make sure you complete all return journeys no later than week 32/35 depending on pregnancy type."
And TUI states: "If you're setting off on holiday as an expectant mum, there are some extra things to think about before you can fly. In most cases, you can fly up to the 36th week, providing your pregnancy is progressing as normal and there have been no complications along the way. That means you'll need to have flown home before the start of your 37th week.
"Bear in mind, though, that if you're flying after 28 weeks - including your return flight - you'll need to let customer services know. You'll also need to get a fit to fly letter from your doctor or midwife, which must be dated no earlier than 14 days before your departure date.
"If you cannot travel due to your pregnancy, you need to contact your Insurance provider in the first instance, and then contact our Customer Service team to discuss your options."
