Homes Under the Hammer presenter Martin Roberts has shared his delight after a heartwarming mention on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! by hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.
The popular ITV jungle series is currently in its 24th season, featuring celebrities like Coleen Rooney, McFly's Danny Jones, and Strictly's Oti Mabuse.
Martin, 61, who participated in the show in 2016 and was the seventh contestant to be eliminated, was touched by the recent reference to his time on the series.
During an episode, Ant and Dec mentioned Martin while discussing a memorable scene from his season. After the campmates performed Singin' In The Rain, Dec joked: "Singin' In The Rain? Bit late, a bit Homes Under the Hammer" to which Ant quipped: "Shut up Martin" as Dec pointed out: "Ooh deep-cut callback to 2016, I like it!", reports the Express.
In an exclusive conversation, Martin expressed his joy at being mentioned, saying it 'made my day'. He revealed: "It was really sweet! I absolutely jumped out of my chair and started whooping because you do think since then there's been about 100 campmates gone through."
Martin added: "It was just really nice that they both remembered and I do get a lot of people still coming up to me still saying how much they enjoyed my time on the show. But to have that little mention they will probably never realise that it was really sweet and definitely made my day!"
Martin took to Instagram to share his delight at being mentioned on 'I'm a Celeb', writing: "What a nice surprise to get a mention from Ant and Dec on last nights 'I'm a Celeb'. I can't believe it's 8 years ago that I was on. But it's lovely that people still come up to me saying they remember and enjoyed my antics in the jungle #ImACeleb @imacelebrity."
In an exclusive chat, Martin also offered some pearls of wisdom for this year's celebs exiting the jungle, explaining: "It's a bit of a comedown! It's an initial flurry of craziness, you know, you've got all the press, all your family, it's intense, and that's fine for a little bit but then after a week or so life does return to normal.
"After you've been through that, like any experience, I think that does take a bit of getting used to, it's very easy to be looking around going: 'Right okay, what's going on now, what's going to happen now? I'm ready'... well, nothing actually, because everything takes a long time in terms of whatever it is career or projects you've got going on."
Martin concluded with advice for readjusting post-jungle life: "You just have to accept it was an amazing experience, treasure it and give yourself time to ease back into normality, which after that kind of experience is not easy."
