Chris Mainwaring-Taylor, an international arbitration and construction disputes specialist and former partner at Allen & Overy (A&O), a prestigious law firm in Britain, has joined Bae, Kim & Lee, the leading Korean law firm said.

A&O is recognized as one of the "Magic Circle" firms in Britain, alongside Clifford Chance, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Linklaters and Slaughter and May.

Mainwaring-Taylor brings extensive experience, with his expertise gained across four major arbitration hubs — Singapore, Paris, Dubai and London.

The Oxford-educated attorney is highly regarded by global legal directories, including Chambers and The Legal 500, for his work in construction, energy, natural resources, power, infrastructure, aviation, mergers and acquisitions and finance.

His career spans years of experience at leading arbitration institutions. Included are the International Criminal Court, the London Court of International Arbitration, the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes, the Dubai International Arbitration Centre and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law. Recently, he chaired the International Chamber of Commerce Court of Arbitration in Singapore.

"Chris is the first lawyer from a major U.K. law firm to join us," said a Bae, Kim & Lee official. "His addition will significantly bolster our ability to handle complex international disputes where English law is applied."

Mainwaring-Taylor will be based in the firm’s Singapore and Seoul offices.
