Spring’s arrival in London has brought an influx of social media influencers to the streets of Notting Hill, যেখানে blooming trees and warmer weather have turned quiet residential areas into popular backdrops for online content.
Stanley Crescent, known for its picturesque homes and seasonal blossoms, has become a focal point for visitors seeking the perfect photograph. Dozens of people gathered there during the recent spell of sunshine and mild temperatures, using the street’s colourful scenery for social media posts.
The trend has also spread to nearby Lancaster Road, close to Portobello Road Market, where residents say influencers frequently pose outside private homes. Some have reportedly brought multiple outfits and changed on the street to create varied content.
Homeowners in the area have had mixed reactions to the surge in visitors. Peter Lee, an 80-year-old former fashion designer who has lived in Notting Hill for nearly five decades, said his property is a regular attraction.
He described seeing people perform elaborate poses, including doing the splits on his steps and balancing on railings. Lee said he does not mind the activity and finds it entertaining to observe through his home security cameras.
On one occasion, he said a group appeared to conduct a full photoshoot outside his home, complete with a temporary changing setup. After they left behind new clothing items with tags still attached, he placed a sign inviting them to return and collect their belongings.
However, not all residents share his tolerance. Some homeowners have taken steps to discourage influencers, including repainting their traditionally bright house exteriors in darker colours to make them less appealing as photo backdrops.
The surge in visitors has coincided with unseasonably warm weather across the UK. Temperatures reached 20.9C in Gogerddan, Wales, marking one of the highest readings of the year so far.
In Northolt, west London, temperatures climbed to 20.2C, exceeding the previous March high of 19.2C recorded earlier in the month.
The UK experienced warmer conditions than several popular European holiday destinations, including Faro, Ibiza, Malta and Corfu, all of which recorded lower temperatures on the same day.
According to the Met Office, the unusually warm weather is due to a flow of warm air moving north from southern Europe. Spokesman Grahame Madge said such spikes are not uncommon during early spring.
He noted that the recent highs are likely to represent a peak for the near future, with no further record-breaking temperatures expected in the coming days.
Forecasters predict that conditions will become more moderate, with temperatures settling at around 17C heading into the weekend.
Despite the expected cooldown, the brief spell of sunshine has already marked the start of a busy season for Notting Hill residents, as the area once again becomes a hotspot for seasonal photography and social media activity.
