Campmates were divided into teams ahead of the latest bushtucker trial on I'm A Celebrity as part of a twist involving the camp on the new series of the ITV show.

It was announced earlier this week that campmates Alan Halsall, 42, Danny Jones, 38, and Dean McCullough, 32, would take on 'the Rank Bank' trial.

The trio's head-to-head bushtucker trial was shown during Thursday night's episode, the Mirror reports.

The rest of the campmates got to watch the trial, with it revealed beforehand by hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly that it was all part of a new twist.

The camp were told ahead of the latest trial: "Jungle life is about to get very expensive. Everyday essentials in camp are going to cost you money and to pay for them you'll have to use your jungle cash card. You're going to be split into three teams."

Ant and Dec explained that Alan, Danny and Newtownabbey manDean would be the teams' founders, with them given a different colour card each. Their co-stars then chose coloured cards at random from a bag, determining which team they would join.

It was revealed that BBC Radio 1 presenter Dean's joined in the pink team by Jane Moore, Coleen Rooney and Melvin Odoom. Alan's blue team includes Tulisa Contostavlos, Reverend Richard Coles and Barry McGuigan. Whilst Danny's in the orange team with Maura Higgins, Oti Mabuse and GK Barry.

The campmates then learned that they would each be responsible for their team's money, with each group given a bank account and cash card. Money can be used to pay for "daily essentials" in camp, as well as food for their meals.

The trial would be the first opportunity for the three teams to bank cash. Alan, Danny and Dean were told that they would compete in four races, with first place awarded $300, second place worth $200 and third winning $100. Nothing would be won though if outside a 3 minute time limit.

The first race saw the trio have to empty a deposit box that contained raw pig testicles using only their mouths. Danny placed first, winning $300, whilst Alan won $200 in second place. Dean ran out of time though, banking no money.

The second challenge involved removing coins out of a box that contained fish guts, again using only their mouths. Alan was the winner, securing $300 for his team, whilst Dean came second. Danny ran out of time by just seconds.

It's been teased by ITV that the second race brought Dean face-to-face with his "nemesis," after he quit a previous trial when fish guts were poured onto him, though he unaware of what it was. Ahead of the second race, host Ant even got Dean to announce that it was fish guts in the box.

The trio had to squeeze juice out of fish eyes into a shot glass for the third race, tasked with filling the glass up to a red line. Alan came first with $300, Danny placed second, winning $200, and Dean banked $100 in third place.

The final race saw them tasked with unscrewing coins located inside holes filled with critters. Alan came out on top, winning another $300. Dean placed second, securing $200 for his team, and Danny ran out of time once again.

Following the trial, the money that had been accumulated by each team's founder was revealed. It was announced that Alan had earned the blue team $1100. Whilst co-stars Danny and Dean both won $500 for their respective teams.
