I'm A Celebrity viewers were all over McFly star Danny Jones' succinct four-word swipe at Dean McCullough during a tense moment in tonight's episode (November 27).
Radio 1's Dean has been pegged along with colleague Melvin Odoom for the task of water retrieval, a duty he has not taken to fondly. He was voicing his grievances about collecting water, garnering little compassion from his campmates or those watching at home.
His splurge of frustration aimed at the other celebrities over chores ruffled some feathers, leading to viewers taking a dim view of his outburst. Providing some backhanded support, Melvin commented to the group, "This is a lone man situation, he's very good at disappearing."
Despite initial reticence, Dean was coaxed into contributing and managed to transport one pail of water back to camp, where he admitted: "That is no joke, the pot is so heavy. I hate doing the water guys I've said it, I'm just gonna have to hold my hands up, it's an awful job and I hate it, and I don't wanna do it anymore. Guys I can't, it's not for me!".
As tension mounted among the troop with claims that Dean wasn't doing his bit, he defended himself by stating his overall contribution as 35 stars in total from his five Bushtucker trials, two of which were incomplete attempts, reports OK!
In the heat of this back-and-forth, camp leader Danny supplied a simple yet decisive reply: "Just get on with it mate."
This elicited a retort from Dean: "That's no way to lead a camp!" Meanwhile, Melvin quipped about Dean being akin to Houdini for his knack of vanishing, as Maura prompted him to carry "positive energy."
Danny's candid remarks resonated with fans, prompting them to share their thoughts on social media. One commented: "'I did this I did that' ok? Do you want a sticker and a lollipop orrr? It's a camp effort. Like Danny said, get on with it."
Another fan expressed their support: "YES DANNY, tell it like it is. Absolutely loving Melvin too" while someone else observed: "Pact to vote out Dean first. Everyone is opening up, having really humbling conversations or actively getting to know others, and all he do is sit around camp and whinge. Its beyond draining."
Accusations also flew regarding Dean's behaviour, with some suggesting his motives for stirring drama: "Dean not getting airtime from trials anymore so he'll get it from arguments instead."
Meanwhile, another fan endorsed Danny's frankness: "Danny saying what everyone is thinking, I love it."
I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX
