I'm A Celebrity viewers were left in stitches when one campmate revealed the star he'd love to swap lives with in Wednesday's episode (December 4).
Some praised his footballing knowledge saying he 'clearly knows' after a snippet was aired showing the celebs chatting about their lives and pondering if there were any other famous individuals they'd fancy swapping places with.
Viewers at home confessed that they didn't foresee Reverend Richard Coles naming the star he envies. He expressed his desire to switch places with a current Premier League player.
Many fans admitted they wouldn't have guessed his answer even with 'a million guesses'. Reverend Richard Coles has been captivating his fellow contestants and viewers by sharing stories from his days as a pop star with The Communards.
His tales included buying a boat and partying in Ibiza, before eventually becoming a Reverend. However, he confessed that he would like to live the life of Premier League star Kevin de Bruyne, reports the Express.
While conversing with McFly's Danny Jones, Podcaster GK Barry and Coleen Rooney, he posed the question: "Which celebrity life would you most like to experience?"
Coleen expressed her wish to spend a day in the life of a Royal family member, to which Richard jokingly responded: "You practically are a royal. If there was a vote, you would be."
When asked which sports star he'd like to be, Richard didn't hesitate, saying: "Kevin de Bruyne. I'd love to be someone who was good at sport. I'd like to experience what it's like to light up a midfield. I'd love to be able to experience what it's like to be able to read a game. I'd love to be able to make goals, score goals."
Coleen chimed in with her personal insight: "I've met Kevin a few times. He's lovely and a lovely family."
Richard continued to express his admiration for the playmaker: "He's my favourite footballer, after Wayne Rooney, and not my team at all but I just love watching him play. I just wish I could do that. It's so different from anything I can do. Never gonna happen."
Manchester City's Kevin de Bruyne, with six Premier League trophies under his belt, is hailed as one of the league's finest. Although his current side face a difficult task to defend their title this year as they lag behind leaders Liverpool.
The audience loved Richard's candid share, with social media buzzing with reactions. One viewer exclaimed: "Howling that Richard would love to live a day in the life of De Bruyne."
Another supporter, rooting for Richard in the finals, said: "I wanted Rev Richard to win I'm a celeb anyway but hearing him say he adores Kevin de Bruyne has cemented it. What a man."
