Dean McCullough was the second contestant to exit the I'm A Celebrity jungle, but fans have noticed a 'brutal' moment during his interview on the reality series companion show.
Main presenters Ant and Dec had a brief conversation with the Radio 1 host right after announcing the results of the latest public vote. However, Dean also appeared on ITV2 afterwards and was interviewed by Sam Thompson on I'm A Celebrity Unpacked.
TV personality Sam, who won last year's version of the reality series, has since become a host of Unpacked alongside Kemi Rodgers and fellow former campmate Joel Dommett, reports the Express. When it was announced that Dean would be leaving the jungle, his initial four-word reaction surprised some viewers as he exclaimed: "I need my underwear!"
He then told Ant and Dec he was thrilled to be heading home. However, fans believe they spotted a moment where the DJ seemed less than pleased.
Dean faced the most Bushtucker trials of any campmate while he was in the jungle. He was chosen by the public to undertake seven challenges, however he said the phrase "I'm A Celebrity... GetMe Out Of Here" twice.
During a chat with Sam over a freshly brewed cup of tea, the presenter mentioned he was giving a mug to every contestant as they left. Each mug would feature a memorable quote from their time on the show.
However, Dean's mug was the plain show-branded one that merely read - I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! Sam explained it reflected Dean's most memorable moment on air.
He said: "You (Dean) were a massive part of the show. We decided to give everyone personalised mugs with their standout quotes of the series and for you we had to go with I'm a celebrity get me out of here. It's actually just the generic one because that is what you said."
Dean's reaction was simply 'well played', yet viewers didn't hold back their thoughts on the gag, with one commenting: "Unpacked giving Dean his 'quote of the series' mug and it's just the logo is so brutal."
Other fans expressed amusement over the interview, pointing out how Sam slyly mentioned accusations against Dean for shirking camp duties. He didn't miss mentioning the fish guts debacle either.
A fan took to social media saying: "'Not the water, clearly' - Sam Thompson not only dropped the mic here, he broke it into smithereens and threw them all over Dean."
Another voiced their enjoyment: "Love Sam's interview with Dean. Dean is on another planet and not 'reading the room and questions'."
The vote is once again open for the audience to decide who stays in camp. The least popular celebrity will make an exit on Monday's episode (December 2).
Currently, McFly's Danny Jones is leading as the favourite to be crowned king of the jungle, with Reverend Richard Coles and Coleen Rooney also hot on his heels expected to reach the final stages.
