Maura Higgins, fresh from her stint in the I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! jungle has addressed rumours about her relationship with TOWIE's Pete Wicks.
The 34-year-old, the sixth celeb to bid farewell to the Australian wilderness, joined ITV's This Morning via video link on December 6.
While discussing her time in the notorious camp with hosts Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond, Maura expressed astonishment at enduring the tough trials and scant rations.
Towards the end of her heart-to-heart with the This Morning duo, Alison couldn't resist quizzing Maura on her romantic life, reports the Express.
Alison enquired: "I'm very excited with you meeting up with Pete when you get back, we all know it's Pete - don't even go there and say it's not Pete! You love him and he loves you, what's gonna happen when you come back?"
Answering the cheeky question, Maura responded, "It didn't take you long to ask that question, Alison, did it?" She elaborated: "Do you know what? You do forget about the cameras, and I do like to keep things private.
"But let's be real, I said it-I can't remember saying it- but I said the words, 'I miss him', and I do miss him. Like I miss all my friends and family."
She concluded by sharing her admiration for Pete: "But no, he is the most supportive," and "Honestly, I didn't know if he was still in Strictly, and I'm so proud of him; he's proud of me, and yeah, I can't wait to see him when I get back!"
During their lively discussion on This Morning, Alison couldn't contain her excitement and half-jokingly requested to be a bridesmaid at Maura's future wedding. With laughter in her response, Maura agreed: "You can be a bridesmaid, Alison, OK, for God's sake."
Maura's appearance on the show garnered positive reactions from audiences. Someone posted online, saying: "I enjoyed watching Maura."
Another shared: "I might be on my own here, but I like Maura. She's a nice girl. A third contributed to the praise, stating: " I love Maura."
In a candid admission from the Love Island celebrity concerning her romantic life, Maura remarked during her jungle stint: "What's the point in getting them [the media] involved too soon, when you just don't know where it's gonna go, you know?"
