ORLANDO, Fla. – Happy weekend! For today, scattered rain and storms are expected to begin firing closer to lunchtime across central Florida. As we go through the day, expect on and off showers and thunderstorms. A few thunderstorms could get strong producing heavy rain at times, gusty winds, and frequent lightning.
Rain todayAny plans outdoors, make sure you have an umbrella near by. Plenty of clouds are expected to hang around the area keeping temperatures near average in the lower 90s. Heat indices are still expected to be in the 100°-105° range.
Later this evening, showers and thunderstorms should come to an end leaving scattered clouds around.
Sunday will be another hot and humid day with highs above average climbing into the middle 90s. Heat indices are expected to be higher between 104°-107° across the area. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop after 1 p.m lasting through the early evening hours.
Through the rest of the week will be a typical summer-like pattern with highs in the middle 90s but feeling hotter. Expect daily rain chances.
