Holyland crash sees young girl taken to hospital and driver cautioned

A young girl remains in hospital after being involved in a collision with a car in the Holyland area of South Belfast.

The female child was hit by the vehicle on Carmel Street at around 4.50pm on Monday, April 7, with the emergency services arriving on the scene shortly afterwards.

She was taken to hospital with injuries that police say are not believed to be life-threatening at the time.

Following the collision, one woman was cautioned by officers at the scene.

Police have issued a fresh appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the collision and are asking them to contact the force as soon as possible on non-emergency number 101.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police are appealing for witnesses in relation to a report of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian which occurred in the Carmel Street area of south Belfast at approximately 4.50pm yesterday, Monday 7th April.

"A female child was taken to hospital with injuries which at this time, are not believed to be life threatening.
One woman was cautioned at the scene.

"Enquiries remain ongoing this morning, and anyone who was in the area at the time and captured any dash cam or mobile phone footage, or who witnessed what happened, is asked to contact 101, and quote reference number 1489 of 07/04/25."
