Holidaymakers can fit more clothes in their suitcase with one Shein item

A clever woman has discovered a brilliant hack for packing more clothes into your suitcase, using an unlikely item that many wouldn't consider.

When it comes to holiday packing, people often find themselves stressing about airline baggage allowances and trying not to pack too much. Laura, who works as a nurse in the UK and doubles as an online fitness coach, took to TikTok to reveal her hack for fitting her holiday wardrobe into her luggage.

She swears by the plastic bags from Shein clothing orders, apparently ideal for packing, as they can comfortably hold multiple folded garments. She demonstrated her method by managing to fit an impressive 12 bikinis into just one Shein bag.

In her video, Laura confesses: "I literally hate packing so much like it stresses me out and I like to put all my things into sections and I thought why don't I put them in sections but put them in Shein bags and then it's all together?" She proceeded to show how she divides her clothing into categories and packs them into separate bags.

Laura's packing list included different plastic bags for various clothing items: pyjamas, corset tops, pants, bodysuits, bikinis, crop tops, co-ord sets – with a single bag holding four pairs of shorts and a denim dress – dresses, gym wear and bikini cover-ups. She finished her packing demo very pleased, saying: "How amazing is that?"

The holiday packing guru also shared that categorising her clothes into different Shein bags makes it easier to unpack and locate specific items. Laura enthused: "Best thing ever. I don't know why in 26 years I've never done this before because it's changed my life."

In the caption of her TikTok video, she wrote: "The best packing hack! I feel like an organised queen!" She also described this method as a "game changer" that "squishes your clothes together so you can fit more in."

Her video has since racked up 112,900 views, over 1,000 likes and numerous comments. One viewer noted: "SHEIN bags are also fab for keeping stuff dry in your beach bag/pool bag! Love them."

Another chimed in: "I always use Shein bags for going away. They are so good for packing kid's clothes. I put a full outfit including underwear and socks into [a] bag for each day."

A third user shared their experience: "I did the same thing a couple of years ago and they are great and the air holes make them easy to flatten on top of each other." A fourth added: "I'm going to try this, looks so satisfying and tidy."

Another person added: "Always save my Shein bags for this exact reason!" Coincidentally, Skyscanner has also revealed some top tips for packing a suitcase.

Among them, reusing sealed plastic bags for liquids, as the air pressure in the cabin can make toiletries "explode". Also, rolling clothes and storing them in vacuum compression bags can save space, and placing a flat cotton wool pad between pressed powder or eyeshadow and the lid can prevent cracking during travel.
