BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Entergy urges customers to help save power supply by conserving electricity, after noticing high electricity usage in Baton Rouge.
On the hottest days of summer and the coldest days of winter, energy usage rates are through the roof.
Below are some conservation tips from Entergy.
Unplug electronic devices and turn off unnecessary lights Refrain from doing chores If you have electric appliances, wash clothes in cold water, take quick showers, and cook foods at the lowest possible temperatures Lower thermostat to 68 degrees Open blinds to let in warmth Don’t allow warm air to escape the homeCooling and heating costs make up 55% of the average customer’s electric bill.
