A council contractor has been slammed as lazy after marking a new white line on the road over the top of dead leaves.
The City of Gold Coast worker's questionable efforts were scrutinised after a community member spotted his 'shoddy' work on Hardys Rd at Mudgeeraba, in the city's south-west.
The image shared to a local Facebook page showed several metres of the painted line going over piles of dead leaves.
While some pointed out it wasn't the worker's job to clean the street and the blame should be pointed at council, the majority argued it wasn't hard to just blow away the leaves before starting the job.

'Ahhh passing the buck, why not fit a high-pressure air nozzle 60cm in front of the paint sprayer,' one person commented.
Other social media users labelled the act 'disgraceful' and 'the height of laziness'.
The City of Gold Coast has over 3,200 kilometres of roads.
Last year alone the council spent $62million on 141 road resurfacing projects and maintenance jobs.
It is understood the line has since been redone.
