LAS VEGAS, NV. (WTAJ) – When Super Bowl 58 kicks off on Feb. 11, one former Penn State football player will etch his name into history.
On Tuesday, Terry Killens was announced as part of the crew officiating the game, making him the first person to officiate and have played in the Super Bowl.
Killens played with the Tennessee Titans as linebacker in Super Bowl XXXIV, recording a tackle in the team’s loss to the Rams.

Killen played football at Penn State and was apart of the team’s 1995 Rose Bowl win. After Penn State, Killens was drafted in the third round by the Houston Oilers in 1996. He wrapped up his seven-year playing career after 2002.
In the early 2010s, Killens kicked off his career as an official and joined the NFL officiating crew in 2019.
You can see Killens roam Allegiant Stadium during Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, Feb. 11 at 6:30 p.m. only on WTAJ.
