The family of a Derry woman who died after she was struck by a Garda car on her way home from a night out in Co Donegal is to stage a civic protest after authorities decided against prosecutions.
Rebecca Browne, a 21-year-old hair stylist, sadly died after she was struck by a Garda car in the early hours of May 21 last year just outside Buncrana.
The collision had been referred to the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission (GSOC). A solicitor for the Browne family said they were informed last week that the Director of Public Prosecutions had decided not to prosecute.

Now, a 'Justice for Rebecca Browne' campaign has been launched in a bid to secure answers for the family.
Campaign organisers, including family members, are to stage a protest on Friday, December 20 at Ludden Beach car park in Buncrana - near the scene of the tragic collision that claimed the young Derry woman's life.
A campaign spokesperson said: "Our goal is to keep Rebecca's memory alive and make sure the truth about what happened that night comes to light."
The spokesperson continued: "Please join us in civil protest to demand answers, accountability and justice for the tragic death of Rebecca Browne.
"The decision not to prosecute any Gardaí involved has left her family and community devastated and demanding justice.
"We want to gather to show our support for Rebecca's family and to call for transparency and accountability from the Gardaí and the DPP [Director of Public Prosecutions]."
In a statement issued last week, a solicitor for the Browne family said they would seek a Judicial Review of the decision not to prosecute.
Conor Moylan of Madden & Finucane Solicitors said: “Yesterday’s decision, by the Director of Public Prosecutions [DPP], not to prosecute the officer responsible is outrageous. Rebecca’s family have been let down by the Irish State and are devastated by this decision.
"The DPP did not have the courtesy to consult the Browne family in relation to their decision. We have requested the full written reasons, together with all documents, consultation notes, expert opinions and reports, and memoranda which have given rise to this decision."
The solicitor added: "It is our intention to challenge this decision by way of Judicial Review."
