The PSNI is liaising with the family of a Belfast man who is missing in Spain.

It's understood John Hardy was last in touch with family on December 14 when he drove from Alicante to Benidorm, BBC News NI reports. It's also reported Mr Hardy was due to board a flight home on December 18.

His sister Courtney George told BBC News NI that his family are "worried sick" and that they "need him home ASAP".

She added that she wanted her brother to "just to find someone and contact home".

"We are distracted, he never has [gone] this long without contacting anyone ever."

Speaking to BBC News NI, Ms George continued: "If he had lost his phone, I am sure he could ask a randomer for help through Facebook or something,"

A PSNI statement said: "On 18/12/24 police in Belfast received a report regarding a man who is currently holidaying in Spain and who has not been in touch with family in recent days. Officers are liaising with the family."

It's reported Mr Hardy flew out to Spain two weeks ago. BBC News NI report Ms George said a woman who sings in bars in Benidorm has claimed to have seen him on Tuesday.
