Emmerdale's Joe Tate star Ned Porteous hints at downfall with five words

1 day ago 135

Emmerdale's Ned Porteous has dropped a bombshell about Joe Tate's potential downfall, which might occur sooner than fans anticipate.

During an appearance on ITV's Lorraine on Thursday (April 17) morning, the 30 year old actor teased what is on the horizon for his troublesome character.

Joe recently faced health woes, needing a kidney transplant. When Noah Dingle wasn't a match, Joe cunningly arranged for a stabbing to obtain half-brother Caleb Milligan's kidney.

Post-surgery, Joe jetted off to Dubai to recuperate, leaving behind a devastated Dawn Fletcher (portrayed by Olivia Bromley), his secret love interest, who was crestfallen due to his abrupt vanishing act and subsequent radio silence.

Back in the village now, Joe is on a mission to reclaim Dawn's affection, regardless of her efforts to rebuild her life with Billy Fletcher as her husband, reports Leeds Live.

Substitute host Christine Lampard questioned: "It's going to come to an end soon right?" to which Ned confirmed with a tantalising hint: "Oh yeah, it's going to pop off."

In the Wednesday (April 16) episode, a torn Dawn made a definitive choice between Joe and Billy, siding with Joe.

She owned up to her faded feelings for Billy and braced herself to bring him the heart-wrenching news, knowing well that this could ignite complete chaos.

But Joe shows no concern, fixated on the idea that their love triumphs over everything else.

Viewers voiced scepticism regarding Joe's true motives on social media, suspecting he could be manipulating Dawn—who is Kim Tate's step-daughter—to ultimately take control of Home Farm.

One Emmerdale fan theorised: "I think Joe is using Dawn to get his feet firmly under Kim's table.

"Dawn is her step daughter, so no matter how much Kim distrusts Joe, she will allow him and Dawn to stay. And Joe is determined to get his sticky paws on Home Farms and probably bankrupt Kim in the process."

Meanwhile, another viewer suggested: "I reckon Joe is using dawn to make a play for homefarm #Emmerdale".

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 at 7.30pm and available to stream from 7am on ITVX and Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV1 at 9am
