Emmerdale fans 'work out' who exposes Dawn’s affair - and it’s returning soap legend

2 days ago 181

Fans of Emmerdale are speculating that a show legend could be making a return to the Dales, with the intention of revealing Dawn Taylor's affair.

Earlier this year, viewers were taken aback when Dawn (played by Olivia Bromley) began an affair with Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), while mourning the death of her father Will (Dean Andrews), who passed away at Christmas.

In her search for solace, she cheated on her husband Billy (Jay Kontzle) with Joe, and despite claiming it was a one-time thing, their romance has persisted.

Meanwhile, Joe's step-grandmother Kim Tate (Claire King) had her doubts about Joe and eventually discovered his affair with Dawn.

Dawn and Joe had an affair

Despite Kim's warnings to both Joe and Dawn to end their relationship, they continued to see each other. However, last week saw a dramatic turn of events for Joe.

As viewers will remember, Joe is suffering from chronic kidney disease and without a transplant, his outlook was bleak. In collaboration with the unscrupulous Dr Crowley (James Hillier), Joe targeted his blood relative, uncle Caleb (William Ash), and stole his kidney.

Fans have predicted her downfall

In Monday's episode (March 31), with the police growing suspicious, Joe left the Dales to return to Dubai, thereby ending his relationship with Dawn.

Now, even though Joe and Dawn's affair has ended, fans believe someone will reveal Dawn's actions, and they suspect it will be a 'returning' icon who will do so, reports Leicestershire Live.

Viewers reckon Debbie could make a return

One Emmerdale enthusiast took to a Facebook fan page to air their grievances, writing: "Dawn is really annoying me now! What have they done to the character."

Commenters on the thread speculated on potential plot twists with one fan stating: "I really hope someone exposes her! I'd love someone like Debbie to come back."

Echoing this sentiment, another added: "Catfight in the dales! That would be epic." The notion of a possible return was furthered by another viewer who commented: "A Debbie return is looming I've said for ages.."

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
