Emmerdale fans think they've figured out who will bring down John Sugden.
John has been concealing his true nature behind a veil of dark secrets which were exposed to viewers last week.
Soap watchers will recall that Anthony Fox is the late abusive father of Ruby Miligan with Ruby killing Anthony earlier this year.
To date, the Miligans and certain members of the Dingle clan have been complicit in concealing the circumstances of Anthony's 'disappearance', with Aaron Dingle's future husband, John, disposing of the corpse clandestinely in the forest.
The saga intensified Friday evening as the Miligans received an unsettling floral tribute supposedly from Anthony. The note accompanying the bouquet ominously declared: "I'm coming for you, Anthony!", reports Leeds Live.
In Monday's gripping instalment, Steph vanished, convincing herself that Anthony was somehow still among the living and was responsible for the flower delivery.
After Jai Sharma owned up to the unsettling gesture, Ruby came clean about enduring Anthony's abuse. A mortified Jai promptly retreated, embarrassed by his actions.
As the episode unfolded, Steph was eventually located by Caleb, John, and Aaron in the woods, frantically trying to exhume Anthony's supposed resting place.
Noticing the undisturbed earth, suspicions swirled around John as they pondered the veracity of Anthony’s demise.
Confronted with their doubt, John, whose sinister past had been laid bare just days prior, appealed: "You all agreed to trust me, yeah? So why don't we just stick to that..."
After being accused by Aaron of 'lying', John confessed: "Alright, okay, fine... he's not here. I thought someone might slip up, so... I figured it was best not to tell you where he really is", all the while maintaining that he is 'dead'.
When faced with Aaron's cold shoulder at the conclusion of the episode, Aaron accused John of attempting to "play the hero again" and then proclaimed: "No more lies" which was echoed by John: "No more lies..."
Yet as John uttered "no more lies", a look of suspicion from Aaron cast doubts, leaving audience members speculating on whether this distrust in his betrothed will precipitate his downfall.
Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: "Oh Aaron is noticing how John always wants to play the hero #Emmerdale", a different account wrote: "Good 1 Aaron! I'm glad he can tell John's lying.. #Emmerdale" while another added: "The walls are closing in on john, it’s not gonna be long before aaron figures out what he’s been up to. #Emmerdale."
