Eamonn Holmes has opened up about his intentions for the New Year as he approaches the season's festivities alone for the first time after separating from Ruth Langsford. The television world was left in shock back in May when the former This Morning hosts disclosed their plans to divorce.
With the turn of events, Eamonn has found love again but is facing his very first Christmas apart from his Loose Women star Ruth. Holmes took to Twitter on Sunday night to express his current thoughts and hinted at his plans for 2025 by posting: "I've just been watching 'A #Donkey for Christmas' on @channel5_tv. I'm going to help even more #animal #charities in 2025 and beyond. Wickedness towards them is just so disgusting and heartbreaking."
Dogs Trust VIP Team chimed in with support, tweeting: "Great news! Happy Christmas Eamonn," and received a positive response from the broadcaster: "Onwards and upwards. Returning that Love."
The public sentiment is warm, with fans like one who voiced their admiration: "You're a great man @EamonnHolmes - Have a wonderful Christmas."
Additionally, despite their personal circumstances, the bond of mutual respect remains intact between the former couple. Eamonn offered support to Ruth following her poignant visit to her sick mother in hospital last week, and she seemingly reciprocated regarding his role on GB News, reports the Mirror.
Holmes’ co-host Isabel Webster further heralded his professional commitment by uploading a picture of the pair together on Instagram.
The caption read: "Final show from us for 2024. Thanks for your company this year. See you soon! Merry Christmas - I hope you all find some peace and joy."
Isabel is set to be replaced on her Breakfast show with Eamonn, with the news breaking in a surprise last-minute statement. Ruth showed her support for her former husband by liking the post, just days before they are due to spend Christmas apart.
This follows Eamonn liking a post of Ruth's where she shared that her dear mum had suffered a fall and fractured her pelvis. Ruth took to Instagram, posting a picture of herself holding her mum's hand, and wrote: "No dancing in my kitchen peeling the veg for my darling Mum this Christmas....she's had a fall and fractured her pelvis! " After liking the post, Eamonn expressed how much he missed his own mum, sharing: "When folk ask me 'What do u want for Christmas? ' Three Christmases without u now Mum and you are still top of my wish list."
