Eamonn Holmes is said to be eyeing a trip down the aisle anew following his break up from Ruth Langsford, as per reports. The television star, aged 64, parted ways with Ruth earlier this year, ending their 14-year marriage which spanned over two decades.
Yet it seems Eamonn hasn't been wallowing in heartache; he's found new happiness with girlfriend Katie Alexander. He's even shared his eagerness for the "tough year" to conclude.
The romantic duo, Eamonn and Katie, have recently let the good times roll on a swanky Mediterranean cruise back in September. Now, they've embarked on another getaway, enjoying a winter holiday in none other than Paris.
Snaps acquired by the Sun show Katie sporting a glitzy ring on that all-telling engagement finger.
Spotted outside the iconic Louvre last week post a culture-filled visit, the lovebirds made quite the picture, with Eamonn keeping cosy in a mobility chair and Katie chic in a faux leather jacket paired with a stylish silk scarf, https://www.mirror.co.uk/.
Just the week prior, though, the pair made an appearance at a carol concert in West London where there was no bling in sight on Katie's hand.
"Eamonn has been talking openly about his plans to marry Katie and has made it clear he wants to spend the rest of his life with her," an insider spilled to the publication. "They're already living together and he knows it feels right. They have a very strong connection and get on very well."
Sources say Katie has given Eamonn Holmes a "real lust for life" and has been taking good care of him. The telly favourite has battled various health issues recently, voicing concerns about potentially losing the ability to walk without assistance.
Eamonn resisted hip replacement surgery for 30 years before finally having both hips operated on in 2016 to address severe pain that was giving him sleepless nights and hindering his mobility. It's understood that Eamonn and Katie first connected over social media and had been in touch "12 years ago."
Ruth Langsford's legal team is now meticulously piecing together a timeline of Eamonn's new romance as they gear up for divorce negotiations.
An insider spilled to the Mirror: "Ruth's legal team are compiling a forensically detailed account of Eamonn's relationship with Katie and when it started. Ruth's team are doing their due diligence ahead of the divorce proceedings. They are prepared to speak to people in Ruth and Eamonn's wider circle."
The source also mentioned: "Katie and Eamonn have been scrambling around to tell their respective exes that they were not romantically involved way back then."
Reports suggest Ruth has enlisted the services of top-notch solicitor Catherine Costley, who charges £400 an hour and once worked with leading divorce lawyer, Baroness Fiona Shackleton the same legal eagle who represented the King in his divorce from Princess Diana.
The telly favourite from Loose Women hasn't explicitly addressed her split, but she's dropped a few intriguing hints here and there. On the ITV panel show, she discussed with her colleagues about whether they'd ever abandon their children for choosing an unsavoury partner.
Ruth shifted the conversation to parents who let themselves and their kids down by arguing with each other, rather than prioritising the children. She commented, "I think it's very selfish when you hear parents who say, you know, if they're divorced, something like 'Well I'm not coming to your wedding if he's coming, or if she's there.' I just think it's so selfish, isn't it? "
Fellow panellist Mariella Frostrup chimed in with, "That's a whole other subject, isn't it? How to divorce well..." Ruth cut in: "Oh, tell me about it! ", which seemed to suggest that she could be keen to explore the topic of "divorcing well"
The Mirror has contacted a spokesperson for Eamonn Holmes for comment.
