Shooting occurred in 2800 block of Sudman Way

LOCKHART, Fla. – Deputies released the name of the woman who was killed in a shooting that also injured four others in Lockhart on Christmas Eve.

According to a news release, 25-year-old Stephanie Diane Cortes, and four men were hurt in the shooting early Sunday in Lockhart.

Orange County deputies said they responded around 2:23 a.m. to the 2800 block of Sudman Way, reporting Cortes died at the scene after being shot.

The four others who suffered gunshot wounds were comprised of two men in their 20s, a man in his 30s and a man of unknown age, the sheriff’s office said in a statement. Those four were hospitalized “in various conditions ranging from stable to critical,” the statement reads.

Investigators believe the shooting was targeted and were said to still be “sorting out” whether any of the people who were shot are suspects in the case at the time of this report, as well as if anyone is outstanding, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies said the shooting remains under investigation.
