Denise Welch has rubbished claims of her untimely death after unsubstantiated speculation swept the internet, claiming the 66 year old television personality had fallen victim to a lethal hot air balloon accident.
The conjecture suggested that Denise had vanished while in a hot air balloon during a scenic flight across the English Channel, disappearing from view over Calais, France.
Taking a tongue-in-cheek approach, Denise Welch shared a news article that declared: "Hot Air Balloon Carrying Denise Welch Disappears En Route from the UK to France,".

In an Instagram post, Denise poked fun at the unverified report saying: "Thank goodness they found me! ! !" accompanied by several laughing emojis.
Furthermore, Denise Welch playfully shared an image of a Simpsons character waving a greeting from a hot air balloon. She also retweeted a post from X, formerly Twitter, claiming: "Lady Gaga begins search for Denise Welch and the lost hot air balloon herself - "I am looking for Densy" she said.", reports the Express.
Welch's reaction read: "There's hope for me yet! !".
In a lighthearted clip from a fan, a mock hot air balloon cutout is seen floating across their living room. Denise expressed gratitude, thanking the fan for keeping tabs on her adventure.
Finally, she ended the evening with a short clip featuring Gabbriette, sashaying toward the camera, with the text: "When you've been missing for hours above France in a balloon! !" Social media users have been having a bit of banter over the incident. One fan commented: "I can't believe Denise Welch went missing just before mothering Sunday it's just so sad. At least the clocks go forward tonight so they've got one less hour of suffering, wherever they are."
Another person chimed in: "Devastating news about Denise Welch going missing in the hot air balloon. Only last week she was talking about 'the trip of a lifetime' on Loose Women. This is why you can't take every day for granted."
Meanwhile, someone else joked: "I live on the 14th floor of a tower block and I'm sure I just saw Denise Welch float past in a hot air balloon."
Even her Wikipedia entry got a temporary edit claiming she had "disappeared" with her last known location being "somewhere over Pyrenees, France."
